WARID CHATZONE is a new service available to Warid mobile subscribers that gives you access to talk or chat to other people anonymously. All you have to do is call/ dial 176 from your Warid line and follow instructions.

The first time you access the service, you will be required to record your own profile so that other people can listen to it and call you if they are interested in talking to you.

The profiles are saved on the Warid Chatzone server and are categorized according to sex and age groups based on the information that you give when you call 176 the first time.

All you have to do is listen to the various profiles of other people in the categories you are interested in and call that person that catches your interest. The Chatzone service will call that person from 176 so that your number is never divulged unless you choose to do so yourself.

INSTRUCTIONS:

  • Dial 176.
  • Select a language.
  • There are 4 language options: English, Luganda, Luo, Runyankole.
  • Put in your profile as prompted by the server.
  • When you have successfully completed this, you can now enjoy the service by listening to other people's profiles and calling those that you find interesting.

  1. Why Chatzone? In this busy world, it is refreshing to know that you can now talk to new people and meet new friends in an easy convenient way. Your phone! You can talk to lots of people whose profiles you will find on Chatzone by just dialing 176!
  2. How do I get to be on Chatzone?All you have to do is dial 176 and record your profile. Once you do this, you can talk to anyone who has their profile recorded and other people on 176 can also call you.
  3. How many people can I talk to at a time?You talk to one person at a time as it is a one on one conversation that is anonymous and secure.
  4. Will the other person know who is calling? No. The other person receives a call from 176 and you will then introduce yourself and decide what information to divulge about yourself.
  5. What if it is not a good time to talk to someone? At Warid we believe that you should have the choice to enjoy our services and information at your convenience. In line with this, you can activate the DND (Do not Disturb) function that is available on the Chatzone service. Just follow the instructions.
  6. How much does it cost? Calls to 176 cost 99 Ushs a minute. These costs will be paid by the person who calls 176.

Terms and Conditions:

  • This service is open to Warid subscribers over the age of 18. Warid will not be held liable for underage users who misrepresent themselves.
  • Call costs will be paid by the person initiating the call to 176. Those receiving calls from 176 will not be charged when they accept a call.
  • The caller ID of the person initiating the call will show as 176 to the person receiving the call to maintain users' anonymity.
  • All profiles will be stored on the Chatzone service and Warid holds the right to delete any profiles that it deems unfit including those with vulgarity, obscenity and improper language.
  • If at any particular time you do not wish to receive calls from other Chatzone users, you can activate the DND (Do Not Disturb) function.
