Talking Sms

 

Talking SMS is an IVR based service that provides voice based messaging solutions whereby you can record a message in your voice and send it as a recorded message to another customer instantly. To send a Talking SMS, dial 175 and follow the voice instructions.

The charge for using this service is USh124 per minute.

How it works


To send a Talking SMS:

 

  • Dial 175
  • Select your language of preference by pressing 1 for English, pressing 2 for Luganda or pressing 3 for Luo.
  • Enter the number you want to send the Talking SMS to (e.g. 0700801838) and press 1 to confirm if the number you entered is correct or press 2 to enter the number again. (the destination number is restricted to Warid mobile numbers).
  • Record your message of up to 60 seconds and press * when you are done.
  • Press 1 to confirm if the message is ok or press 2 to record the message again
  • The message will be sent to the recipient's phone soon afterwards.
  • The recipient of the Talking SMS will receive an OBD call from the sender's number and when he/she picks up, the recorded message will start playing.

 


If the recipient doesn't pick up, the service will try calling the recipients number up to 3 times after which the message will be discarded.

The service is applies to Warid to Warid numbers only.
