A. Yes, this phone is network locked and only accepts a Warid simcard.

Q. How do I receive the free Pakalast days and the free SMS?
A. You will receive the free Pakalast days and SMS automatically when you attempt to make a call to any number with the simcard provided.
You will receive an SMS notification informing you about the days immediately. Wait for at least 2 hours to receive your free messages.

Q. How can I activate my phone?
A. You can activate your phone by calling 100 (customer service) or dialing *131#.

Q. Do I get an SMS notification when I receive the Free Pakalast days or Free SMS?
A. Yes, you will be sent notification messages to confirm the free Pakalast days and 300 free SMS

Q. Can I check to find out how much bonus they have left?
A. Yes, you can query bonus balance by dialling *170#.

Q. Is it possible to use the free time/bonus airtime to call any network?
A. No, the free time/Pakalast cannot be used to call off-net numbers and international. The Pakalast is valid for only Warid to Warid calls.

Q. Can I use the free SMS to send to international destinations?
A. No, you cannot use your free SMS for international messages

Q. Can these free SMS be used for local networks?
A. Yes, you can send these SMS to all local networks both on and off –net but the messages cannot be used for data and VAS

Q. Can I change my tariff plan?
A. Yes, you can change to and from freedom per second and freedom per minute tariff plans and still have your free days and messages

Q. What will happen if I choose to change tariff plan to Mega bonus.
A. If you change to Mega bonus, you risk losing the promotion bonus

Q. Is it possible to change back to this promotion profile if I was initially on it but had opted for Mega bonus?
A. No, if you join Mega bonus, then you cannot re-join the promotion profile (because it is not listed among the options). You can however choose from other existing service classes.

Q. Is it possible to use my old Warid prepaid line to join the tariff plan that has this bonus?
A. No, the bonus is only given when you buy the fully connected WTU handset at the selling price of Ushs. 49,999/-.

Q. How much free time/PakaLast do I get and for how long?
A. The promotion gives a maximum of 7 PakaLast days all at once and these are to expire at the end of the seventh day.

Q. Can I use my promotion SIM card in a different handset and still enjoy the bonus?
A. You can change handsets and still enjoy the promotion if you stick to the SIM CARD issued in the WTU handset.

Q. What if I put another ordinary SIM card that I have probably been using before in the WTU promotion handset, will I get the bonuses?
A. No, such a scenario doesn’t entitle you to any WTU handset promotion bonuses

Q. For how long will I have the bonus SMS?
A. You can have them for as long as you wish because these SMS don’t have a set expiry time

Q. What if I want to get a number of my choice?
A. Bonus is not given in the event of provisioning on demand i.e. when you request a change in the number allocated to the Sim card purchased.
