Warid Telecom Uganda commercially launched its prepaid services in Uganda on February 7th 2008 with a series of nationwide simultaneous activations. We are the first network provider ever in Uganda to switch on and have a sizable network coverage at time of launch. 

Within only three weeks of commercial launch we hit our first landmark number of 100,000 subscribers and launched a number of innovative and exciting products and offers including extended weekends.

We also introduced two individual tariff plans each with extremely attractive national and international call rates.
