1. How can I get access to postpaid roaming?
The service will be activated upon a written request by the
subscriber, a contract signed and prescribed refundable
security deposits paid. It is mandatory that both services
(international dialing and roaming) be activated for someone
to be able to have postpaid roaming abilities.
2. How do I use Warid International Roaming Service?
On arrival in a foreign country, switch on your mobile phone.
• The mobile phone will automatically search for one of our
roaming partners’ networks or you may initiate a manual
search. Thereafter, the phone will display all the available
network operators you can select to make or receive
calls from your mobile.
• Most phones have manual and automatic network
selection. Please select as desired (refer to your phone
user guide for more details). If you have problems,
you may need to manually select the network by using
the network selection menu on your phone.
• Select the Network Service Provider you would like to use.
• Your phone will initiate registration with the chosen
network and you will be connected.
• You can tell when you are connected because the name
of the network or the network code will appear on your
phone’s display to confirm that service is available.
• You will now be able to make and receive calls on your
mobile phone using your Warid mobile number.
3. How do I make calls in a foreign country using Warid
Telecom International Roaming Service?
Calls can be made to any destination within and outside
the country in which you are roaming by simply dialing
the relevant area code and number. If you need to make
international calls from the country you are visiting, simply
dial the following:
• “+” or “The country’s international access code”.
Remember plus (+) is the standard replacement used
instead of the country’s international access code
e.g. 000 (for Uganda) will be replaced by +.
• The country code of the country you are dialing.
• The telephone number of the person you are calling
** While abroad, your colleagues in Uganda will still be able
to reach you by dialing your Warid Telecom mobile
phone number.
** If somebody within the country in which you are
roaming needs to contact you, they will have to dial
your full Warid Telecom mobile number, including the
international access code (“+”) and the international
dialing code for Uganda (256) followed by your number.
For example: +256 704006700.
4. How will I be charged for calls while roaming?
Each call is charged differently.
Originating a call while in a foreign country:
You will be charged the roaming partner’s international
roaming tariff and an administrative fee. This charge is
basically defined by the relevant operator and NOT by Warid
Telecom.
Please note the following very important information while
roaming
• For local calls (from roaming country to roaming country);
calls should be dialed as local calls within that country.
• For international calls (from roaming country to another
country); dial the international access code, the country
code, city code and the telephone number you wish to call.
• Receiving a call while in a foreign country; Your caller will
be charged the relevant local or international rate
(depending on whether s/he is calling from Uganda or
abroad). You will be charged at the rate of making an
international call to that country off Warid Telecom network.
5. Will I be able to send & receive SMS while roaming?
Not only will your SMS work, but it will also make your
communication more cost effective. However, you may not
be able to send and receive SMS from all networks.
Please ensure that you have the correct Warid Uganda SMS
service center number +256 70000088 in the message
settings.
6. Will I be charged for diverting my calls while roaming?
Diverting a call is as good as originating a call and you will
be charged full cost for any diverts. This also applies if you
activate diverts to voicemail.
7. Are there any services that MAY NOT work while
roaming?
Call Line Identity might not work while roaming. You may
therefore not be able to identify your caller prior to answering
the phone.
8. What do I need to do when I get back to Uganda?

and you may as well contact our Customer Services toll free

us to improve upon so that your next travel can be more
enjoyable while using the Warid Telecom roaming service.
