How to register

Simply visit your nearest Warid Pesa outlet to register for this service.

 

To register and hold a Warid Pesa account, you will need:

  • A cellphone with an active Warid SIM card
  • A completed and signed Customer Registration Form
  • Proof of ID (original document and copy)
  • Passport size photograph
  • Passport and Residence Permit (if you are not an Ugandan citizen)

Registration


You can register for Warid Pesa by visiting an authorized Retailer. To register for the Warid Pesa, you are requested to fill in the registration form, sign it and submit required identification documents for verification. The Retailer consequently registers you through the Agent application. Upon successful registration, you will receive a welcome SMS and a system-generated 6-digit activation code onto your registered mobile number. You can then use this code to activate your account. 

Activation


Follow these simple steps to activate your account:

Step 1: Dial the short code *144# from your mobile phone handset

Step 2: Press Send

Sign up


The application takes you to the next step, i.e., sign up. As a new customer you have to provide the 6-digit activation code acquired at the time of registration. This will be used for authentication purposes. You will also need to set a new Mobile Personal Identification Number (MPIN) for authenticating your transactions.

The application requests you to enter the Confirmation Code.

Step 1: Press Answer and enter the 6-digit activation code, received via SMS

Step 2: Press Send


The application then requests you to create a new Mobile MPIN.

Step 3: Press Answer and enter a 4-digit MPIN

This will be used to authenticate any transaction that is being initiated from your mobile phone as well as any other channel supported by Warid Pesa.

The application then requests you to re-enter the MPIN to confirm.

Step 3: Press Answer and re-enter the 4-digit MPIN

Step 4: Press Send

On successful validation, your account will be activated. You will then be able to log into the application using your registered mobile number and MPIN.
